Hello and welcome to the Otters class who are taught by Mr Ashton.
Welcome to Otters Class, our Year 3 class taught by Mr Ashton and assisted by Mrs Dixon. We’re looking forward to a fantastic year of learning, laughter and discovery together!
In Maths, we’ll be building on our understanding of number and place value, developing efficient strategies for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and applying these skills to solve real-life problems. We’ll also explore exciting topics such as fractions, shape, time and measurement as we grow in confidence and independence as mathematicians. In English, we’ll be diving into a range of diverse and wonderful books that will inspire our reading, spark our imaginations and help us become thoughtful writers. Alongside a number of exciting, creative and inciteful topics in our foundation subjects to broaden our knowledge of the world both past and present.
Our PE day is Friday, and we’ll also be going swimming every Thursday—please make sure kits are in school on those days.
Reading books will go home on Fridays and should be returned to school by Thursday each week. If children read at home at least three times and this is signed off in their reading jotters, they will be entered into our exciting Starbooks Hot Chocolate Draw at the end of the week!
Each weekend, one lucky child will also get to take home our class otters, Bubbles and Pebbles, for a weekend adventure. We can’t wait to hear all about their travels on Monday!
We’re so proud of our Otters and can’t wait to see all the amazing things they achieve this year.
